This video introduces the Hybrid Sabatier technology, an innovative methanation technology, being developed by Tokyo Gas. The Hybrid Sabatier device combines and integrates the hydrogen production unit and methane synthesis unit. There is a heat transfer layer between the units, which allows the heat from methane synthesis to be used for water electrolysis. By directing the heat to produce the hydrogen, the electricity needed for electrolysis can be reduced. As a result, it can improve the overall energy conversion efficiency compared to existing methanation technologies.
